Srinagar: Separatist leader Masarat Alam was arrested by Jammu & Kashmir police on Friday for waving Pakistani flag during a protest march in Srinagar on April 15.

Hardline Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and separatist leader Masarat Alam were on Thursday put under house arrest on the eve of their rally in Tral town of Pulwama district.

Separatist leader Masarat Alam who was recently released was present while several youngsters waved Pakistani flags and shouted anti-India slogans.
Alam was the mastermind behind the 2010 protests and stone-pelting incidents in which over 100 people lost their lives. He was later arrested on the orders of the then Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah.
