Mumbai: The multi-talented Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Mary Kom’ directed by Omung Kumar has received the best film award at the ‘Stockholm International Film Festival Junior’ in Sweden.
The biopic was slated on the life of Indian Olympic medal-winner Mary Kom. The Blockbuster hit was awarded the Bronze Horse award, the highest honor of the festival. Omung said, “Mary Kom was selected for the Stockholm International Film Festival Award in Sweden.The jury was made up of Kids ranging from the age of nine to 17 years.” Calling it a ‘big’ achievement, Omung said, ‘films like ‘Mary Kom’ need to be made in Bollywood. This award is a very big thing for us because now it will bridge the gap between Sweden and India.’
Mary Kom will be again shown in Sweden by the Indian Embassy at the Indian Festival Next Month, reports said.
