Marauding Jumbo Kills Man in Doars

Jalpaiguri: The increasing tussle between humans and elephants has again claimed a life in North Bengal’s Doars. A tea worker of Bardighi Tea Estate identified as Narayan Baraik aged 55 was killed by an elephant on Sunday night. The body has been sent to the hospital for postmortem.

Elephants are frequently invading human settlements in many areas of North Bengal as their habitate is shrinking day by day and food is getting scarce for the jumbos to survive.
