Marathon Organised For Social Service


Kolkata: The 5th Airtel Marathon is scheduled on November 25. But before that, on Wednesday a discussion meet was held for racers and other participants to discuss on how to keep oneself well while someone is hurt during the run. Dr. Arijit Bose, head of emergency department of Apollo Gleanagles was present in the meeting.

HIDCO chairperson Debashis Sen was also present in the programme. Anyone being injured while running in the marathon, having cramps in leg and steps to be adopted while running were discussed. The marathon has been arranged to spread awareness on helping those children who are socially backward.

People from different walks of life are involved in this competition. This marathon will start from City Centre 1 and end at Biswa Bangla gate on November 25. The organisers believe that before any marathon, some important things must be kept in mind. To discuss them, the meeting was organised.

In the first race in this season, almost 8000 are participating. This marathon has been divided into three sections, 5km, 10 km and 21 km which will be covered through running by the participants. ARFE always works for the development of the society. The amount of money that will be gained through this marathon will be used for the socially backward children.
