Midnapore: The Maoists have called for a strike to be held on Monday and Tuesday at Jharkhand-Orissa border.
The strike was called to protest against the central government and price hike of ‘biri’. A press release produced by them contained criticisms against the central and state government’s torture on the poor families. According to the Maoists, the strike will not be called off until and unless their demands are fulfilled.
Akash, a member of the Maoist party’s West Bengal State Committee threatened that unless their demands are met they will move for a bigger protest.
