Murshidabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has found a maoist connection with the recovery of huge number of explosives in the Murshidabad district. In the investigations conducted by the investigating agencies over the last few days, the investigators have come to the preliminary conclusion that the explosives were being brought through Murshidabad for carrying out sabotage.

Three top officials of the NIA are interrogating the arrested persons Ashraf Sheikh, Rafikul Sheikh and Sentu Sheikh at Raghunathgunj police station. Last Saturday, one quintal of explosives was recovered from Raghunathgunj which has raised the eyebrows of the central investigating agencies. Red alert has already been sounded throughout the country warning of terrorist attacks before Independence day. Five days after the recovery of the explosives, the District administration has imposed tight checking at the entry and exit points of the district. Search operations are being conducted throughout the district and the patrolling along the Bangladesh border has also been increased.
