Manjunath Murder case: SC upholds life imprisonment to accused


New Delhi: Six accused in Indian Oil Manager S Manjunath’s murder has been given life imprisonment by the Supreme Court. He was killed on 19 November 2005 by oil mafias of Uttar Pradesh.

He was killed for standing up against the oil adulteration racket. To stop their activities, he went to collect sample on the night of 19 November 2005 from a petrol pump.

He was shot dead by the oil mafias at that time. His body was recovered from a car. The main accused was Paban Kumar, the owner of the Petrol Pump. Along with him, Rakesh Anand, Bibek Sharma, Debesh Agnihotri, Shivkesh giri and Rajesh Varma were sentenced to life imprisonment by the apex court.
