Man Hacked To Death In Front Of Polling Booth

Dhaka: A man has been hacked to death in front of a voting centre in Comilla during the fourth phase of the Union Parishad (UP) elections.

Police said the incident, that took place just after polling started at 8am at Madhabpur UP in Brahmanparha Upazila, has left six others injured. That includes an Awami League candidate.

 The victim has been identified as Tapash Chandra Das, 23, said Sub Inspector Humayun Kabir, the security in-charge of the polling station.

He said that Das was attacked on his way to the voting centre.

Six others, including the ruling party chairman aspirant Fariduddin, have been injured in the attack, added the police officer.
