Mamata’s Plane Makes Emergency Landing At Dum Dum


Kolkata: A Kolkata bound Indigo plane carrying West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport on Wednesday after it ran out of fuel. The plane took off from Patna airport with the chief minister at 07:35 pm and commenced its journey towards Kolkata.

As per reports, the pilot was made to wait in the air as there was congestion in the route and 7 other planes were waiting in the queue seeking permission to land. Meanwhile, the plane carrying Mamata ran out of fuel and requested permission for emergency landing. However, the plane landed safely at 08:45 pm.

The DGCA has ordered a probe into the incident and Bidahannagar police commissionerate has also sought an explanation from the air port authority.
