Jalpaiguri: The Prime Minister’s visit to the state scheduled for May 9 is certainly a favorable development for West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressing a meeting at Jalpaiguri’s Uttarkanya, said that she will personally receive the PM at airport.
Addressing a press meet after the meeting Mamata said that she will raise many a key issues including the centrally funded projects in the meeting with PM.
Mamata complained that many centrally funded projects have been put in the back burner as center stopped funding. She said that center stopped funding for the development of Jungal Mahal and Darjeeling along with the 100 days’ work scheme, and assured to discuss the subject.
Extending her support to center’s bill on exchanging land with Bangladesh, she said she will urge the PM for a special economic package for Bengal.
