West Midnapore: TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee has fired all cylinders while campaigning in West Midnapore’s Narayangarh today. Mamata urged the voters to vote out CPM’s State Secretary, Surjyakanta Mishra. Last time, when TMC came to power sweeping assembly election in Bengal—Surjyakanta managed to win despite all odds. As a result, his party made him the opposition leader in assembly; Surjya also took pains to convince his Central leadership to form an alliance with Congress.
So, Mamata made an extra effort today saying, “If you vote Surjyakanta out of power from this constituency, I’ll give you whatever you want! If I come back as a Chief Minister here after May 19, my victory rally will begin from here; I promise.”
“Surjyakanta has only looked after her wife’s NGO; He has done nothing for this area,” added Mamata.
Mamata also lashed out at Mohammad Selim saying, “They’ve said that they’ll take revenge! In spite of flooding the state with blood for 34 years, they’re still talking revenge; is there anything left to take revenge?”
Recently, CPM MP, Mohammad Selim attacked TMC in a rally; he said that his party would take all account of their martyrs. Selim’s statement has created enough controversy among the political rivals. And as a result, Mamata made no bones attacking Selim in her rally today. Mamata was visibly angry today, and she was desperate to send across her message to her voters.
