Mamata To Leave For Delhi On Tuesday For Dharna

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will leave for Delhi on Tuesday to give more pressure to the Modi government at the Centre. There is scheduled a programme by opposition political parties.

TMC RS MP Derek O’Brien will be present on Monday at Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu’s sit-in. In 2014, Telengana was constituted separate from Andhra Pradesh. The Centre had promised to give special status of state. In 2018, TDP left from NDA accusing Modi government of not fulfiling promises. Naidu has sit in a dharna over this issue.

On Sunday, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team that went to question Kumar at his residence in the Saradha chit fund case was allegedly roughed up and detained by the Kolkata Police, triggering a political slugfest between the Centre and the West Bengal government-led by Banerjee. The issue also reached the Supreme Court which has asked Kumar to appear before the CBI in Shillong, a neutral venue.
