Mamata Sets Up Several Committees In North Bengal


Siliguri: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced the setting up of several projects in North Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee said at a press conference, after conducting a meeting with the officials, that the state government is the main authority to take initiative for the development of North Bengal. She announced several projects to be set up at Asian highway, National Highway 55. She also spoke about the investments made for the expansion of Baghdora in Darjeeling.

Mamata Banerjee announced that North Bengal’s Advisory Committee’s chairman would be Abdul Karim. The vice chairman of the same advisory committee would be Harka Chetri. Another board has been set up. It is the North Bengal Board For Development of Sports and Kids. Bhaichung Bhutia is the chairman of such a committee.

Mamata Banerjee announced to set up a bus stand at the international level. It would be Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand. She mentioned that several such committees have been set up so that north Bengal faces no problems in future. She presumes that all would coordinate and work together for the betterment of North Bengal.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has invited President Pranab Mukherjee to North Bengal who has never been there. She informed that works worth 120 crores of rupees has been completed.
