Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is all set to visit the United Kingdom on July this year. As per the reports the state government has already sent a request to the foreign ministry, seeking clearance for the tour.
The CM will be on a five day tour starting from July 27 to July 31, during which she is to hold a meeting with British premier David Cameron. Cameron in a earlier visit to Bengal had invited Mamta to visit Britain.
Many key ministers including state finance minister Dr. Amit Mitra and Urban Development minister Firhad Hakim is to accompany the CM. A business delegate from the state is also expected to join Mamata in her tour.
Mamata had earlier hinted a major renovation of Kolkata creating a London like model city. She is expected to take a tour at various heritage sites and river Thames in London.
After her visit to Singapore, the London tour is expected to help in bringing foreign investment in a fund starved Bengal.
