World Malaria Day sprung out of the efforts taking place across the African continent to commemorate Africa Malaria Day. WMD is one of eight official global public health campaigns currently marked by the WHO.

The Chief Minister said, “Today is World Malaria Day. The mosquito-borne disease can affect anyone. Our government is ready to fight it, and we reiterate our collective commitment towards prevention and cure measures”.

As per World Health Organisation (WHO), this year’s theme is “Ready to Beat Malaria”. The theme underscores the collective energy and commitment of the global malaria community in uniting around the common goal of a world free of malaria.
