Kolkata: The West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has paid tributes to Swami Vivekananda, on his birth anniversary. She wrote on Facebook that today is the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. Let us dedicate ourselves to the cause of unity, integrity and universal brotherhood.
To spread Swamiji’s vision and ideals of character building among our youth, we are organizing “Vivek Chetana Utsav” throughout the state from 10th January.
This will culminate in a special programme, “Milan Utsav, 2016”, at Netaji Indoor Stadium today organized by Youth Affairs, Information and Cultural Affairs and Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Departments of our government.
We are honoured that the noted ghazal maestro, Janab Ghulam Ali, will perform in this special program. Our message is peace, unity and fraternity. My heartiest greetings and best wishes.
