Mamata pays visit to bullet hit SI at CMRI


Kolkata: After the voting in the KMC elections, the Police Commissioner of Kolkata Surajit Kar Purakayastha claimed that no incidents of firing have been brought into his ears. But he did not deny the fact that there were some cases of bombings at different parts of the city like infront of Raj Bhavan. On the other hand, at the time of making this statement, post poll violence occured at Girish Park area.

At Singhibagan School in Girish Park, sub inspector Jagannath Mondal was seriously injured when he was hit by a bullet. Firing also took place at that spot. According to sources, the injured policeman is being taken to the CMRI hospital and police commissioner and other top level police officials have reached the hospital where the injured sub-Inspector will be undergoing operation.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has reached the hospital and is supervising the treatment of the police officer. As of now, doctors have claimed that his injury is severe and the officer is in a critical condition.
