Mamata To Pay Tribute To Netaji’s Statue On Red Road

Kolkata: Forward Bloc (FB) has decided to shift time to show honour to Netaji’s statue at Red Road and allow Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to garland the national hero first at 12.15 pm on Tuesday on Netaji’s birthday.

In 2012, FB leaders had came to garland Netaji and Mamata had turned up at the same time at Red Road. Though it was a government programme but the FB leaders had wanted to show their affection for the leader first.

From then on the Bengal CM had been attending the Netaji’s birthday at Darjeeling. But this time the FB general secretary Naren Chatterjee had been able to convince his party leaders to shift the time and come to garland Netaji after the government programme.

A senior government official said that the FB will be holding their programme at 2 pm, while Mamata will garland Netaji at 12.15 pm, so there will be no issues this time.
