Mamata meets Bangla Land Minister at Nabanna

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a high level meeting with Bangladesh Land Minister Samsur Rehman at Nabann on Monday.
As per the reports, many key issues including Chitmahal and Teesta waters were said to have dominated the meeting.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her visit to Dhaka earlier had assured Bangladesh Prime Minister sheikh Hasina of resolving the Teesta issue while protecting interests of both sides.
According to the Bangladesh Government the Teesta issue was raised by Mamata herself and she also informed Hasina that she expected the Indian Parliament to ratify the Land boundary Agreement.
Mamata during the UPA regime in 2011 had protested severely to accept the Teesta accord promulgated by the then PM Manmohan Singh.
