Mamata makes attendance compulsory on Bandh Day

Kolkata: The state government has issued a notice where it is stated that attendance has been made compulsory at all state government offices on Tuesday, Aug 18. On Tuesday, the Congress had called for a 12 hour Bangla Bandh in protest of the hooliganism, Sabang college incident and the autocracy of the rulling party in the state. Reacting to the strike, the notice served by the state government has been favoured in line with keeping up of the working spirit of the state. It is also said that if one fails to turn up to office on Tuesday, his salary for a day will be deducted. However, in cases of emergency, if one provides a valid document of his absence, the state will look into the matter.
