Asansol: The four-member BJP delegation has reached to take stock of the situation in the coal city in the wake of the violence over Ram Navami processions.
Members of BJP delegation has visited relief camp and violence affected area in Asansol. They have talked with the people. The delegation comprising BJP national vice-president and Rajya Sabha member Om Prakash Mathur, national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain, Palamu MP and former director-general of Jharkhand police Vishnu Dayal Ram and Rajya Sabha member Roopa Ganguly left for Asansol this morning. They will submit the report to Amit Shah.
After taking stock, she claimed directly to the news agency ANI, Mamata ji iske liye jimmedar hain( Mamata Banerjee is responsible for Asansol Violence). “We are going to Asansol to take stock of the situation. If the administration tries to stop us we have ways to get in there. They must give us a proper logic why we’ll not be allowed there, else we’ll go there,” Roopa Ganguly said before leaving for Asansol.
Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Saturday visited three places in Asansol affected by violence over Ram Navami processions with the “message of peace” but drew criticism from Trinamul for meeting only one section of the victims.
The police stopped local MP and BJP leader Babul Supriyo from visiting the area a few days back, saying it would add to tension in the area. A person was allegedly hacked to death while a Deputy Commissioner of Police lost a hand after getting hit by a bomb during a clash between two groups centring on a Ram Navami procession organised by Sangh affiliates in Raniganj on Monday. Several shops and houses were vandalised and set ablaze during the clashes.
