Mamata inaugurates a number of projects at Raigunj


Kaushik Chatterjee, Raigunj: Speaking to journalists after conducting an administrative meeting at Raigunj in North Dinajpur, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that North Dinajpur is lagging behind South Dinajpur in terms of development.

On Tuesday she conducted a meeting with the officials of the two districts at Raigunj’s Kornojora for more than one hour. She said that electricity has been sent to all of South Dinajpur whereas electricity is still left to be sent at 45,000 points of North Dinajpur. She has directed District Magistrate Randhir Kumar to take necessary steps to complete the electrification process.

She also said that a Medical college will be constructed at North Dinajpur and two muti super speciality hospitals are being constructed at Raigunj and Islampur which will be completed soon. Regarding the work at Dalkhola Bypass Chief Minister said she has spoken to the National Highway authorities. The work will start soon.

The work for the Bengal to Bengal road will also begin soon. She has called on all the entrepreneurs of the district for construction industry related to agriculture.

She also inaugurated 29 projects in North Dinajpur and 26 projects of South Dinajpur from the District Magistrate’s office. After the inauguration she left for Siliguri via road.
