Kolkata: The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday extended her wish to all the people of Bangladesh on its 49th Independence Day.
Expressing her wish, she wrote in her Twitter handle t “Wishing all my brothers and sisters in Bangladesh a very happy Independence Day, বাংলাদেশের সকল ভাই ও বোনেদের জানাই স্বাধীনতা দিবসের শুভেচ্ছা.”

On March 26, 1971, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh’s independence following the crackdown on unarmed Bangalis on March 25 night by the then Pakistan occupation army.
The world’s most-used internet search engine Google has created a doodle marking the 49th Independence Day of Bangladesh. The doodle, featuring three boats containing different goods on a river, has been seen above the search box on the homepage of Google since early Tuesday.
