Sabang: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday lashed out at Congress and CPM over the murder of a TMC supporter in West Midnapore’s Sabang on Friday.

Mrs, Banerjee accused the Congress and CPM of indulging in politics of murder fearing defeat in the assembly polls.

“The Left-Congress alliance is trying to create terror in the state to influence the voters. They are playing politics of violence.” Mamata said.

Demanding strict action against the culprits Mamata said that she will move to Election Commission seeking justice.

She also blamed CPM leader Mohammed Salim for instigating violence. Salim had earlier warned that his party will take revenge for the alleged atrocities of TMC.

The Friday murder has again sparked a war of words between TMC, Left and Congress with the parties blaming each other.

Local TMC workers have accused Congress MLA Manas Bhunia of orchestrating the murder and lodged an FIR against him.

Meanwhile, congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury blamed the murder on TMC’s factional feud. Adhir said, “The murder is the result of internal strife within TMC. Manas Bhunia has nothing to do with it.”

Manas Bhunia too junked the allegations.

On the other hand, police acting swift has so far arrested 8 people many of them alleged CPM workers. The accused will be produced at the local court today.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Joydeb Jana has been murdered by some unknown assailants in West Midinapore District of West Bengal on Friday night.
