New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee's residence in the national capital on Tuesday.
Both the leaders greeted each other, exchanged pleasantries and proceeded for dinner. The West Bengal Chief Minister was accompanied by TMC leader Derek O'Brien and other party leaders when she met Kejriwal. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Ashutosh and Raghav Chadha were also present on the occasion.
The Delhi CM showering praises on Mamata Banerjee said, “TMC has been raising issues of poor in WB, AAP has fought for rights of common-man, hv many common grounds, will work together.”
Stressing on the importance of a strong federal structure, Mamata Banerjee said, “States will move ahead & Centre will also move ahead if we work together,if state & federal structure is strong, Centre will be strong.”
On the other hand, in a bid to bring the anti-BJP parties under one umbrella Sharad Pawar has called a meeting at his residence which will be attended by Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, leaders fron Janata Dal United (JDU) and Samajwadi Party (SP).
