Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday appreciates entertainment industry. Banerjee said that Bengal had the best talent pool to come on top of the entertainment industry.
Though financial issues are there in the fields, still the industry working hard, Banerjee said. The Cf Minister has attended a function to commemorate the 38th death anniversary of Uttam Kumar.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee handed over the Mahanayak Samman to Aparna Sen and Paran Bandyopadhyay in a programme at Nazrul Mancha on Tuesday, organised by the state government to commemorate the 38th death anniversary of matinee idol Uttam Kumar.
Addressing a function to commemorate the 38th death anniversary of matinee idol Uttam Kumar, Banerjee said, “Bengal may not have as much financial backing as many other states, we may be lacking on publicity and marketing fronts. But one will find the best talent pool on this soil.”
14 films will be screened in the next -day ‘Uttam Chalochhitro Utsab’. The film festival was organised by Shilpi Sansad, an organisation working for the welfare of members of the Bengali film industry.
