Kolkata: The state health department has granted two-days holiday to the doctors of the government hospitals. According to the administration, the extra two-days holiday has been awarded for working during the Durga Puja days.
As per the administration, they will have to use these holidays within December 2018. This leave will be considered as ‘special leave’. Pleased with the way the doctors have worked during the Pujas, chief minister Mamata Banerjee ordered to grant the two-days holiday.
As per records, the heath services in the state was normal during the Puja days. 915 primary health centers remained opened in the state. Treatment was done at state’s 348 block primary heath centers and ‘gramin’ hospitals. Apart from them, health services were also normal at the state’s 96 district and big government hospitals and medical colleges.
Thousands of doctors worked during these Puja days, forgetting families and festivities, for the common people. This has impressed the CM.
The governmental doctors do not get Compensatory Casual Leave or CCL. Hence, this ‘special leave’ arrangement was made.
