Mamata Asks MP’s Not To Join Dharna By Opposition At Gandhi Statue

Kolkata: TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, who is known to be a tough leader, ensures that every decision by her parliamentary party in Delhi is approved by her.

While several parties were seen joining the protest by the Opposition, her control over her party was evident as none of her MP’s joined the protest.

The Congress, left parties, NCP and SP decided to stage an impromptu dharna  against demonetisation near the Mahatma Gandhi statue.

Incidentally, Jyotiraditya Scindia had requested Derek O Brian and Sudip Banerjee to attend the dharna along with MP’s of other opposition parties.

The duo promptly dialled the Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and asked her if the issue had been discussed at the meeting of opposition leaders in the morning.  Piqued at the unilateral decision Mamata asked he party MP’s to refrain from the dharna by Opposition.
