New Delhi: BJP delegation met President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday over the Malda incident in Bengal. The party submitted a memorandum to the President.
The party dubbed the issue as a threat to national security. BJP has taken on ruling Trinamool in Bengal accusing it of inaction in the Malda violence for the sake of vote bank politics.
BJP alleged the police station was burnt down to destroy records of fake currency rackets. The TMC, however is returning the attack saying the government had no role in the Malda violence and BJP is giving a communal spin to the entire episode.
Tension gripped West Bengal’s Malda district on Sunday after a mob torched the entire police station and several vehicles during a protest rally.
