Malda: Demanding the formation of a permanent principal and a management committee the guardians of the ST. Xavier’s school in Maldah has started a protest on Monday morning during the school hours. The guardians have locked the school gate to show the protest as the class nine students of the school didn’t get to register their names for the ICSE board examination.
The school neither recruited any permanent principal nor did they form any management committee. Meanwhile, the fees of the school was also increasing every year. The CISCE has not issued registration for the class nine students this year. Even ICSE 2018 candidates from the school didn’t receive any confirmation from the board yet.
The students of the school future is very uncertain due to this. Although the parents requested the school authorities to solve the problem, but no action was taken regarding this issue, claimed the guardian who were protesting. They guardian whose children are in classes XI and XII faced the similar problems.
On Monday, guardians locked the school gate of the school. They demanded to recruit a permanent Principal immediately. Beside this, the school should also create a management committee through election. On this day teachers could not enter the school premises due to protests. Student returned back home. The protesters demanded that until the issues are solved they won’t allow to open the school.
The present authority of St. Xavier’s school of Malda denied to speak anything regarding the incident. They only assured that they will talk with the board about the clearance of the registration issue of the children. Presently, future of the 1400 students of this school depends on Aadhaar.
