Major Fire Breaks Out At Godown In Beleghata

Kolkata: A major fire broke out at a rubber factory in Beleghata on Sunday afternoon with no casualties as of now.

The fire was reported to have broken out at 3:45 pm. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately to douse the flames. The rubber factory was located at the Beleghata’s canal area. To avert more damage, the electricity has been cut off at the moment.

The locals tried dousing the flames soon after the fire broke. They alleged that the fire tenders arrived with a huge delay of at least half an hour. It is being suspected that the fire was the result of the presence of chemical agents or particle in the factory which also toppled the speedy spread of the fire.

As per our latest reports, 6 workers have been rescued so far. No casualties have been reported yet.
