Major Fire Breaks Out At Dhoni’s Team Hotel, Match Postponed

New Delhi: Massive fire broke out on Friday morning in Jharkhand cricket team’s hotel at Dwarka. The Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinal between Jharkhand and Bengal slated to take place in Palam has been postponed

The situation sparked off panic as former India captain MS Dhoni had was also present in the team hotel along with the entire Jharkhand team. They were evacuated safely.

The fire was brought under control at 7.50 am after a call was made to the DFS around 6:30 regarding fire inside Welcome hotel complex in sector 10 Dwarka. 30 fire stations were sent on the spot, says Delhi fire services.

The extent of damages caused by the fire was unknown. However, sources confirmed that Kit bags of the Jharkhand players were damaged.

The semifinal will take place on Saturday. Jharkhand reached the semifinal after registering an easy 6-wicket win in the quarterfinal against Vidarbha on Wednesday.
