The joint efforts of the police and CID led to the arrest of the main accused who was produced in the Malda District Court. The police are suspecting that looting might have been the main cause behind the murder.

Nirmal Singh, the main accused, was a worker in businessman Ram Ratan Agarwal’s brick klin. He used to visit the businessman’s house regularly. He even visited the businessman’s house the next day so that the police could not suspect him.

A businessman, his wife and the caretaker of their house were on Friday found murdered at his residence near NH 34 in Englishbazar area of Malda, police said.

While the businessman Ram Ratan Agarwal and his wife Manju were found brutally murdered in their bedroom, their caretaker Ganesh Ram for many years now, was found murdered outside the main building, they said.
