Kolkata: The Madhyamik board on Saturday cancelled the answer scripts of four students caught with mobile phones in two examination venues.
Invigilators seized their phones and answer scripts and asked them to leave the premises, Kalyanmoy Ganguly, administrator, West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, said. Their papers were cancelled, he said.
The board had cancelled the papers of three students on March 12, the day the Madhyamik exams began.Three students writing the exam at Bandipur Ideal Academy in the Sukhchor area on the northern outskirts were found cheating by using mobile phones, a board official said.
Another student was caught with a mobile phone at Madhabnagar Badalmani High School in Malda district. His paper, too, was cancelled the same way. The four are allowed to take the next exam on Monday, though.
The board on Saturday started an inquiry into the complaint of the head of Enayetpur High School in Malda, claiming the physical science paper was being circulated on WhatsApp when the exam was on.
