Madan Mitra’s bail plea rejected


Kolkata: The bail plea of Minister Madan Mitra has been rejected by Alipore Court. The Minister’s lawyer had appealed for bail on grounds that Mitra has been lodged in jail for 196 days whereas the others accused in the case have either got bail or are moving outside freely. The CBI had alleged that the jailed Minister had used his influence to stay the maximum number of days in hospital since his arrest countering which the Minister’s lawyers filed a bail plea which was ultimately rejected and Madan has been sent to jail once over again.
