Madan Blows Poll Bugle From Jail


Kolkata: Trinamool leader and Saradha scam accused, former transport minister Madan Mitra has sounded the poll bugle from jail. Madan appearing before the media after a hearing in Alipore court in a case related to Saradha scam said, “I will start campaigning for the polls from jail if Didi gives her nod.”

He further added, “If he Congress and CPM joined hands and forms an alliance TMC will gain another 30 seats.” Madan Mitra, who is currently behind the bars for his alleged involvement in he multi-crore Saradha scam will be contesting from Kamarhati on Trinamool ticket.

The crucial Assembly poll in West Bengal is due this year and with a possible alliance between Congress and CPM, the ruling Trinamool party is a little worried. On the other hand incidents like Malda violence has reportedly provided a boost to BJP’s vote bank.
