Kolkata: A PIL has been filed in the Calcutta High Court over the LPG scam. The
hearing will be held under the division bench under the Chief Justice.
Recently, BJP leader Ranjit Majumder was arrested for the LPG scam. TMC legal cell
laywer Sanjib Daw filed the PIL appealing for a CID investigation against state BJP
president Dilip Ghosh, state general secretary Sayantan Basu and Raju Banerjee.
On Wednesday, the PIL was filed under the division bench of Chief Justice Jyotirmoy
Bhattacharya and Justice Arijit Banerjee. The plea was accepted by the Chief
Justice. In the plea, the lawyer said that on 6th July 2018, a complaint was filed
in the Bolpur police station. That complaint will be considered as an FIR.
The lawyer also said that BJP has rigged the LPG gas distributorship and is
involved in t he scam. He demanded immediate investigation by the CID which will be
unbiased, as per him.
In this case, state police head, Kolkata Police commissioner, Bharat Petroleum and
Hindusthan Petroleum have been put under its purview.
