Kolkata: Some cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal may bring light to moderate rain in various South Bengal districts including Kolkata in the next few days. The Regional Metrological Centre at Alipore has predicted that the sky in some parts may remain cloudy.
Places such as kalimpong, Kaurseong, Darjeeling could see some good spell of showers. It may rain in some of the North Bengal districts as well and are expected to get heavy rainfall with strong winds starting today, due to a depression over the Bay of Bengal and cyclonic circulation. A low pressure trough formed over Bay of Bengal may bring light rain.
The sky remained overcast since Monday afternoon, while some parts of the city and the adjoining districts witnessed light rain, resulting in a slight drop in the temperature. A huge amount of vapour is entering the city’s sky as well. Rain seems to have retreated in the city.
According to prediction of the regional Meteorological department at Alipore in some places rains may be accompanied with thundershowers. Weather conditions are still favourable for some more rain and thundershowers of varying intensity may hit some parts of South Bengal.
Despite the prediction of light rain in parts of South Bengal districts, people are likely to feel discomfort. The weather officials are, however, not terming it as Westerly.
According to a weather expert, some portions of the sky may also remain overcast in South Bengal districts on Tuesday. A cool breeze may also sweep through the districts . The temperature will slightly go down from Tuesday night, and may rise on Wednesday afternoon.
