Kolkata: West Bengal BJP Mahila Morcha president Locket Chatterjee on Saturday criticised CM Mamata Banerjee and supports Bengal governor’s statement on ‘Beti bachao and Beti Padaho’.
Locket Chatterjee said that CM Mamata does not follow the constitution. She said whatever she wants. She does not have the power to criticize the governor.
West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Friday drew a comparison between the Centre’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana’ and the state’s acclaimed ‘Kanyashree Prakalpa’.
Tripathi said that while the Central government’s scheme helps a girl child starting from her basic education to establishing herself in society, the West Bengal initiative offers “limited assistance”.
After that statement Bengal Governor faced huge criticism from ruling party of West Bengal. on this issue, Locket Chatterjee said this is his show of humanity which above his post. She also asserted that if a woman tortured in-front of him then he do not go to save her? He helped her surely. Locket also said that here is no democracy at all.
Earlier, With an eye on next year’s panchayat elections, the West Bengal BJP effected a major reshuffle in its organisational structure with Locket Chatterjee replacing Roopa Ganguly as president of the party’s women wing.
