Liverpool-2 , West Ham Utd-0
London: Daniel Sturridge capped his return from injury with a goal, as Liverpool eased to victory against West Ham United, largely due to an inspired display from Raheem Sterling.
Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Liverpool, had Sturridge available for the first time since the win over Tottenham at the end of August last year.
However, all those long hours spent regaining his fitness will have been forgotten when he produced a clinical finish, 12 minutes after entering proceedings as a substitute, in the second half.
On the other hand, West Ham never really looked threatening to open Liverpool’s lockgate.
