Nagpur: Social service branch (SSB) of the Nagpur city police crime branch has rescued two girls, including a minor, from an apartment at Harihar Nagar near Besa Chowk from a couple who lived under the cover of being in a ‘live-in’ relationship. The police have claimed that they were running a sex racket under disguise. Pramila Kohod, a widow, has been arrested along with her live-in partner Feroze Khan by the SSB squad led by Senior PI BM Powar. Two girls, both students of different college, were rescued during the operation from the sex racket. An offence was registered at Sonegaon police station.
This is the second time Pramila has been arrested and charged under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Khan, a real estate agent-turned-sex racketeer, turned to flesh trade for fast money. Police said the couple had procured the girls from Gondia and Wardha, after luring them with monetary gains as both belonged to economically weaker sections.
