New Delhi: Censor board chief Lila Samson quits from her post. Bringing in instances of “interference, coercion and corruption of panel members and officers”, Samson has decided to step down from her role. Lila Samson was appointed in the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) by the Union Information & Broadcasting Ministry.
Ms. Samson’s three year term had ended in April 2014 but had been continuing with the charge in the absence of a fresh appointment by the Modi Government. The same was the case with other members of the Board. In July, the Ministry had informed the Board members that their term was being extended “till further notice”.
