Kolkata: Left Front and Congress members jointly continued their protests inside the assembly on Monday rushing to the well shouting slogans.
The Opposition members today raised their voice against the TET controversy in appoitment of teachers in the primary schools. They started slogan shouting since the start of the question hour and the replies made were drowned by the protesting voices and rushed to the well of the house shouting slogans.
Slogans were also raised against the suspension of Leader of Opposition and Congress member Abdul Mannan from the house. Manan was hospitalised on February 8 after he had taken ill while being evicted by the marshall from the House which witnessed a scuffle between Congress MLAs and security staff.
He was suspended by Speaker Biman Banerjee as he continued his protests against the government for bringing West Bengal Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Bill, 2017 and termed it as “black law” while refusing to heed to the Speaker who asked him to wait for discussions on it.
