LeT Militant Arrested in Kashmir


Jammu: An Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant was arrested in a joint operation by police and 21 Rashtriya Rifles near fruit Mandi in Handwara on Wednesday.

The arrested militant has been identified as Ashiq Ahmed alias Abu Haider.  Last year, A Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militant was arrested from Sopore township of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Umar Khaliq Mir, a local, was arrested from Tujjar area of Sopore after security forces launched a search operation following specific inputs, a police official said. He said Mir has been taken into custody and lodged at Sopore police station.
