Santiniketan: The Bangladesh Bhavana will by inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Friday.
The 44,261 square feet two storey building has a museum, auditorium, library, cafeteria and seminar halls. In the interior there is a glass roof so that centrally airconditioned building can get direct sunlight from above.
The building has been constructed by National Building Construction Corporation, a central government undertaking, on 1,19, 609 square feet of land donated by Visva-Bharati with Rs 35 crore fund provided by the Bangladesh government.
Outside part has been decorated with red and yellow building has decorative tiles on a porch and one has to walk past glass panelled doors. The front walls are also designed with terracotta bricks.
