New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) n Thursday after his blood sugar levels and blood pressure went up.
According to party sources, the 63-year-old Lalu Prasad, who was railway minister in the first United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime, was rushed to the hospital with complaints of increased blood sugar levels, high blood pressure and problems in the urinary bladder.
Doctors of the general surgery department at the premier hospital operated on Yadav yesterday following which he has been admitted in the private ward. AIIMS officials refused to comment on the nature of the surgery.
“His condition is perfectly stable. He was not suffering from any serious ailment. He will be discharged soon,” AIIMS spokesperson Dr Amit Gupta said today.
