Laborer found dead near Duttabad

Kolkata: Dead body of a middle aged person was found in a under construction Metro Station opposite Duttabad near Bengal Chemical crossing on Sunday.

The body was found by a supervisor who did not find any laborers at the site. Interestingly no security guard was present at night there. The body of the male laborer was found with his hands tied and had wounds on his head, hands and legs.
According to sources eight laborers were present at the site last night. They fled the scene in two groups of four and three in early morning carrying utensils.

Cops from Phoolbagan Police Station and the homicide department are not ruling out murder. “Prima facie it seems an argument had broken out among them. They had tied his hands, best him up and left him on the roof. Possibly they did not realise that he had died else they would have fled the scene much earlier,” said an officer from Phoolbagan police station.
