Kolkata: ED summons Narada News CEO Matthew Samuel on 18th of May in the CGO Complex, Salt Lake at 12 in the noon.
Officials said Samuel has been asked to present himself or send an authorised representative before the Investigating Officer (IO) of the case on May 18 at its office Kolkata in the Salt Lake area. He has also been asked to bring along or send his personal financial documents, those of the news channel and Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the last three assessment years during deposition, they said.
Matthew will be interrogated on the outsourcing of funds to the political leaders.
The ED would seek to clarify all the sources of the money he was captured distributing in the sting footage which CBI officials got hands on.Moreover they would also want to know from him the amount received by each of the political leaders.
Samuel is not an accused in the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) and the ED wants to quiz him to get information about the sting and circumstances in which it was done. He has been quizzed by the CBI in this case earlier.

The Narada News CEO Matthew Samuel ignored the police summon several times earlier, but this time they warned of a strong step against him if he failed to reach in the CGO Complex, Salt Lake office for the investigation process.
Earlier on April the primary investigation reports of the Narada chit fund case was submitted to the Calcutta High Court. From that reports CBI lodged an FIR against 13 reputed TMC party leaders. The FIR was lodged under the Prevention of Corruption Act and for conspiracy (PMLA).
