Kolkata Walks In Support Of Demonitisation


Kolkata: The people of Kolkata were organized a mass rally for central government to praise PM Narendra Modi’s decision to curb black money. They also praised the decision to ban old Rs 500 and 1000 notes. Not only that the rally organizers protest against all opposition parties who criticizes Modi.

The mass rally was started on Thursday from College Square and the rally came to an end at Kolkata university gate after a round of College squre. The main slogan of the rally was ‘Bharat Matar Jay’.

In a major step to check black money, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetization of Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes, making these notes invalid in a major assault on black money, fake currency and corruption.

For this demonetization, opposition parties including TMC also hold protest against Modi government and called for also Bharat bandh. United opposition attacked the Centre in Parliament over poor implementation of demonetisation. Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee staged dharna against this demonitisation but different picture was seen in the streets of Kolkata.
