Kolkata: The Kolkata police has issued a fresh summon to Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel ordering him to appear before Lalbazar within 7 days.
The anti-corruption branch of Kolkata Police has sent another email summoning him immediately to Lalbazaar for the Narada Sting issue. Earlier he was summoned initially by the Kolkata police but he did not respond to the email. The police then sought legal methods to arrest him if he did not respond within 7 days. Matthew Samuel responded saying that a case on the Narada scam was underway in the Calcutta High Court and hence he requested to withdraw the summon. But the police seems to ignore such request.
A few days back, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced to probe into the Narada sting issue under the supervision of the CP Rajeev Kumar. Prior to the elections, Narada news released videos which had persons resembling to several MPs, ministers, MLAs, were seen accepting bribes from a fictitious company promising favours in return.
